Essensuals Evolution – Yumi Nakada-Dingle is where texture and colour take the lead. Voluminous, tousled curls carry a rock-and-roll spirit, big copper corkscrews sit beside a rich red blunt fringe, and windblown auburn waves give way to a glossy chestnut mid-length and a retro finger-waved blonde bob. The colour work, by Francesco Fontana, runs luminous and dimensional throughout – movement everywhere, yet every shape stays deliberate and directional.

That range is very 2006. It was a year that swung between the era’s glossy, poker-straight polish and big, textured, rock-and-roll volume, with statement colour – coppers, reds and cool blondes – doing as much work as the cut. Yumi Nakada-Dingle’s Essensuals (Toni & Guy) collection pushes both at once: bold, luminous colour and deliberate, sculpted texture.
